The Seva Bharathi a non-profit making organization which works with the motto "MANAVA SEVA IS MADHAVA SEVA" has been extending a helping hand to the unorganized and neglected needy sections of society. The Society is established for charitable purpose for the benefit of all persons irrespective of caste, colour, religion, language or any other denomination. (The activities of the society will be strictly in accordance with the provisions of the  societies Registration Act XXI of 1860)
Diseases and disabilities should not be treated as part of ones fate. The Seva Bharathi, Calicut, is a voluntary service organization striving to reach all possible assistance to those who suffer, and to instill in them self-confidence. Seva Bharathi strives to foster health consciousness and spread knowledge of health and hygiene among the masses so that they are able to have healthier lives.

The free distribution of rice-gruel to the in-patients of the Calicut Medical College, the Seva Mandiram which provides shelter to the destitute, providing help and guidance to those who reach the Medical College for treatment, providing wheel-chairs and crutches to the physically challenged, eye-donation to bring light to the life of the blind, Medical Camps, Blood Donation, Ambulance Service at moderate rates, making available potable water through Rain Water Harvesting Project, formation of Self-help groups to achieve self-reliance in society are some of the service activities conducted by the Seva Bharathi.


By launching the self-help groups, the Seva Bharathi has taken yet another firm step to inculcate the sense of Swadeshi in the people. Not less than ten persons belonging to an area are mobilized to form a self-help group, which engages in book-binding and in the manufacture of soaps, paper bags, toys, umbrellas, ready-made, garments, etc.

The volunteers of Seva Bharathi are active in times of dire need as in the train accident that occurred due to the Kadalundi Bridge collapse.
